Mr. Toth

John M. Toth was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1956. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction from the University of Michigan in 1977 where he was designated a James B. Angell Scholar. Mr. Toth received his Juris Doctorate from Villanova University in 1981.

Since 1981, his law practice has specialized in defending and prosecuting matters in litigation involving the professional liability of physicians, dentists and hospitals along with complex commercial and criminal matters.

Mr. Toth has received the highest attorney rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been designated as a Super Lawyer by Law and Politics Magazine, an honor reserved for the top 5% of attorneys in each state. He has also been selected by his peers for inclusion in dbusiness Magazine's 2009 list of Top Lawyers.

Mr. Toth is admitted to practice in the States of Michigan and Ohio. He is a member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the Oakland, Detroit, Livingston County Bar Associations and presently serves as a Vice Chair of the State Bar of Michigan's Standing Committee on Character and Fitness, having been appointed to the Committee since 1995.

He resides in Brighton Township with his wife, Lorie. They have three adult children, Jennifer, a law student at Villanova University and twin sons, Jon and Aaron, both of whom are United States Marines.

 

 


Mr. Baldridge

David M. Baldridge was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1944. He received his Bachelor's degree in accounting and management from Wayne State University in 1966. In 1969, he received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude from Wayne State University Law School.

In 1973, Mr. Baldridge joined Michigan's then oldest law firm, Moll, Desenberg, Purdy, Glover & Bayer, where he was a partner for 16 years. In 1991, he and John Toth left the firm to create their present firm. His practice is focused on the representation of individuals, corporations, health care providers and insurance companies in the resolution of complex disputes in state and federal courts, administrative hearings and binding arbitration.

A significant portion of Mr. Baldridge's litigation practice has been and continues to be the defense of medical malpractice cases on behalf of physicians, hospitals and healthcare systems. He has held Martindale-Hubbell's highest ratings for legal ability and ethics for over 30 years. Mr. Baldridge's expertise has also been recognized by his inclusion in dbusiness Magazine's 2009 list of Top Lawyers.

Mr. Baldridge is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland and Wayne County Bar Associations and the Detroit Bar Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Association of Michigan Defense Trial Counsel.

 

 


Mrs. Griz

Stephanie A. Griz was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1958. She received a Bachelor's of Arts degree with honors from Kalamazoo College in 1980 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1983. In addition to practice in Michigan, Ms Griz is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts, Eastern and Western Districts.

During law school, Ms. Griz served as a member of the Moot Court Board from1980 to 1983 and as a Moot Court Judge from 1985 to 2000 at the University of Detroit School of Law, Trial Clinic. Ms. Griz has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Wayne County Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, the Metropolitan Detroit Bar Association, the Dearborn Bar Association, the Women Lawyer's Association of Michigan, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management and the Michigan Society of Hospital Attorneys.

Ms. Griz has extensive experience in medical malpractice litigation, defending physicians, nurses and hospitals, and in general defense litigation. She also represents a number of professional physician groups in matters involving contract drafting and negotiations. From 2000 to 2006, Ms. Griz served as a Clinical Instructor of Law and the Medicine for Wayne State University Medical Students and as Clinical Instructor of Emergency Medicine for the Oakwood Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

Ms. Griz lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with her husband, James and their two children. Ms. Griz is active in her community as a mentor to law and medical students.

 

 


Mrs. Heath

Sheila C. Heath was born in Pontiac, Michigan in 1968. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Presidential Scholar from Eastern Michigan University in 1991, graduating magna cum laude. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy College of Law in 1994.

She joined the firm in 2005, having come from a large Detroit firm specializing in the defense of complex litigation. Her years of training and experience compliment the team's vigorous yet ethical approach to the representation of their clients.

Ms. Heath has actively pursued the defense of complex civil litigation in all Michigan Courts including the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. Her practice focus includes general civil litigation, medical malpractice defense, business law, contract negotiation and transactional litigation.

Ms. Heath resides in Rochester. In her spare time, she can be found skiing, running or reading.
